Active Image Roleplay was formed in 2000 by David Stedman and a consultant psychiatrist specifically to provide role players specialising in psychiatric and other medical conditions.

David Stedman has worked as an actor and teacher for over 25 years. He is a graduate in English and Drama from Bristol University with a postgraduate Diploma in Acting from The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. He has a Postgraduate Certificate of Education and has taught in both secondary and primary schools in inner-city London. Between acting jobs, he also worked part-time for 3 years as a psychiatric nursing assistant at The Maudsley Hospital in South East London. He combines the skills and experience he has gathered to provide a unique and focused service.

David has worked closely with Maudsley Simulation to design and deliver a training course for actors working in psychiatric roleplay. This intensive two day course aims to develop an increased understanding of psychiatric conditions and the ways in which they can manifest.
